Investment Process
As financial investors, we’re fundamentally driven by return on investment (ROI)—which in turn is shaped by the valuation at entry and exit. We align with the belief, as articulated by Prof. Aswath Damodaran, that valuation is a function of perceived cash flows, where “perception” equals “expected growth.”
While perception is inherently subjective, we believe it can be grounded in reason. By breaking expected growth into tangible components—such as total addressable market, competitive landscape, demand elasticity, consumer utility, and broader economic indicators—we build a rational framework for evaluating future cash flows.
Our approach follows a structured path:
Clarity of Understanding
The business must be explained simply, down to its building blocks. If we can’t grasp it fully, we don’t proceed.
Understanding the "Why"
We dig into the rationale—why does this product or service need to exist? What problem is it solving?
Market Opportunity
Once the need is clear, we assess its scale. How big is the opportunity today, and what tailwinds could accelerate growth?
Traction (if available)
Evidence of early traction or user adoption adds significant weight. If pre-seed, that’s fine—so long as the fundamentals are in place.
People & Execution
Ultimately, execution determines success. Here, we lean into qualitative judgment: the founder’s vision, clarity of thought, and business sense. This is the most subjective stage—but often the most important.
